Description

The text, the only one in Italian public libraries, presents the chronological series of the General Ministers of the Franciscan Order up to the mid 19th century, from Francis (1226) to Brother Salvatore Calì (1857). The work is accompanied by magnificent effigies, collected and for the most part made by Vincenzo Coronelli (1650-1718), scholar, cosmographer and geographer of the Serenissima and one of the most important cartographers of the time. The effigies span a period of time beyond the year of Coronelli's death, so it is likely that the volume was completed by other engravers. Only 4 copies exist in Italian libraries.
